Japanese Minka Version 1

Here's another thing I've been bashing on whenever I get two seconds to throw at it: A doll house version of a Japanese minka or farmhouse.

I've been working on it as supplies permit since everytime I visit the local hobby store, I buy out all they have of the types of basswood sticks I need. I've wiped out three stores in the last week alone, and they can't restock fast enough for me. So this project will be finished as soon as I can get more bits for it.

It's been a surprisingly easy build, but I am pretty sure that I will have to build a second version that is more in proportion to the actual diagrams I have for a farm house. Clearly, my first guesses for measurements were way off, but it still will make a really cute little cabin to play with. In the end, I will probably sell this one off so that I can fund building the bigger, more accurate one.

When it's done, it will have removable walls and roof and will have a proper bamboo/reed door and a window shutter. I might even make a Sculpey clay oven for it too.

So many fun projects, so little time....

Did spend a lot of time on Dogs of War this week though....
