Description
This photo is taken in Michigan's Upper Peninsula on a deeply forested piece of property that I own with my husband. A friend of ours, Bill Higgins, took a hike down into the thick of it and snapped this view. When I saw it, it took my breath away and I asked him for permission to post it here, and he kindly agreed.
It's wild, it's beautiful, and it's where my soul rests. It is here that I have based a lot of the stories I've written, and it's here where my imagination comes to play.
For those following the progress of my fan fiction "The Dogs of War", this is what InuYasha and Jesse experience during their long hike. I can just see him just beyond those old trees.....

This is very beautiful. 
I'm reminded of my trips to the U.P. of Michigan as well. Although it's hard to picture all the scenery, I'll never forget 10 miles hikes and other great adventures. One in particular will always be my friend stepping on a shell while we were swimming in a lake. The gash began bleeding like mad. Having no bandages, his older brother quickly took of his shirt and tied it around his younger brother's foot. We had to rush him back to camp in a canoe through the stream and across another lake that we had ventured through to get there. Needless to say, that shirt was ruined.
